Fanjove Private Island

Songo Songo Archipelago is a group of five islands and 20 reefs, located 140 km south of Dar es Salaam. They are surrounded by 40 kilometers of coral reefs that protect the strength of the offshore islands and reefs that lie within. Songo Songo is a wide and varied habitats, characteristic of the reef, with coral reefs and diversity of an environmentally important area for sea turtles and sea birds that nest here.

On the island of Fanjove is the Fanjove Private Island Lodge. The unspoilt natural beauty of a tropical island, 20 miles from the coast, is a tourist destination yet unexplored. After a short sail in a dhow, once landed on the island, guests will live an unforgettable experience, Robinson Crusoe style. We enter an exotic dimension, time slows down, we feel completely detached from everyday life.
The beaches of pure sand and turquoise water, the extraction of the waves, the whistling of the wind caressing the palms, colorful pieces of coconut crab that occur at night, the species of multicolored birds that stop during migration are only color frames.

The Lodge consists of six Eco Bandas, each with a private bathroom with hot showers in the open, under the stars. The Bandas are distributed along the main beach, each with ocean views. All are designed with privacy in mind and the environment, in particular to have the lowest impact on the area and are fed individually to solar energy. A path from your band takes you to the dining room where delicious meals inspired by Fusion Cousine, reflect the multicultural influences that fueled the historical past of the area.

During the day you can enjoy your leisure with various activities related to sea life, including diving in the crystal clear waters to discover a true paradise.

"Nobody lives on Fanjove, except you and our dedicated staff, as we have rented the whole island from the near-by village of Songosongo and also contribute 3% of our income to the social development of the community. We are proud of our achievement and we want to keep doing better and better and keep the island natural so that we can all learn what life is all about!"
